Thomas
Hunter Lines
From
exploration surveying since the age of 14 to Alaskan fishing,
from surface rescue in the Canadian Navy to running his
own recycling business in his hometown on Vancouver Island,
Tom Lines has done it all. Yet, he always had an artistic
talent. Seeing this, his parents signed him up early on
for art lessons and by the age of 8 he entered his first
art show.
Fascinated
with horror movies and the art of illusion, Tom Lines
developed a self-taught hobby of making prosthetics for
his Halloween costumes. After one particular Halloween
when he turned many heads (and scared children), he decided
to turn his hobby and passion into his career. A recent
graduate of the Blanche Macdonald Institute, he continues
developing his knowledge of special effects makeup on
the side. Tom counts his idols among Todd McIntosh and
George Westmore.
Tom
applies the four P's in regards to his work:
Personality, Passion, Professionalism and
Persistence
